Spending the day with Ryder and her awesome parents was beyond special and of course, bittersweet. I feel incredibly honored that they chose and trusted me to capture these special moments for them.
Ryder was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and she is their heart dog. The first dog that they are responsible for as an adult and their bond is magical. When Anna and I first talked, we connected immediately and I loved hearing all about their special girl.
I approach my dog sessions with less of a photoshoot and more of a playdate and hanging out with friends. When my parents can relax enough to just enjoy their day with no agenda or timeframe, that is where the magic happens.
We started the session at Graeters for an ice cream cone. My pet parents always love these images-they are pure joy!
We then headed over to Coffman Park which is such a favorite location for dog sessions. It's not overly busy with dogs and has so much variety for backdrops.
We finished her session down by the creek and of course as a lab, she is crazy about water! She had no reservations and we were able to capture some great images of her totally 100% in her element.
I suggested some of the feet / shoe shots as those are always my clients favorites and Anna's boot selection did not disappoint. It could not have been more perfect for the finale of her shoot.
You could feel the love between her and her parents and this session serves as such a tribute to their life together.
Please keep this very special family in your thoughts-xoxo
